We sat down with Simon & Cole to ask of their experience in racing, the importance of comfort and what RECARO has meant for their careers of over 30 years combined.

Q.I What is your original vehicle (Year and Model)?
SS: Haha – my first car was a 1988 Volvo 340. I was a technician at an exotic car rental company at the time and it was considered old then. I currently drive a 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R.
CL: My first car was a 2008 Mitsubishi Evo – with a RECARO seat – but now I race with KTM GT2 & GTX Models.
Q.II How many RECARO Seats have you owned?
SS: Installed in my lifetime? Countless. Teams and drivers in racing do not take second place lightly, and engineers must ensure safety among speed, weight, fitment, and fluid functionality. When it comes down to seats, there is no other name that comes to mind but RECARO.
CL: I have spent most of my racing career on RECARO seats, whether it was installed in a simulator or a Porsche. But personally, my 2016 Shelby Mustang GT350R had an OEM seat - no installation required. Easy.
Q.III Why do you love RECARO Automotive Seating?
SS: Reliable performance. When it comes to Racing, that is all you want your products to provide. RECARO delivers every time.
CL: You know, I really cannot tell you why I love these seats over others, like it is hard to describe your favorite sneakers or pair of jeans. But - You can just feel when you are not in a RECARO – especially during endurance races. When driving after being awake for more or less a day, the last thing any driver wants is losing focus because you need to shift in your seat to get comfortable.
Q.IV What was your reason for buying a vehicle with a RECARO seat or an Aftermarket seat to replace your current seating?
SS: Well, it is either coincidence or proof – all the cars I have wanted and drive now comes with RECARO seats. And I do not plan on replacing them.
CL: Same. And RECARO is one of those things; it comes with one or you buy one – either way, once you install one, you don’t worry about it for years and years.
